Ocmulgee WMA

Ocmulgee Wildlife Management Area is located in Bleckley, Pulaski and Twiggs counties. This 15,000-acre property has hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game.

The Gum Swamp Creek Tract is a 475-acre area open for archery hunting for deer, turkey and small game. No camping is allowed on this tract.

Montezuma Bluffs WMA

Montezuma Bluffs Wildlife Management Area is located in Macon County. This 500-acre property offers a quality buck and antlerless archery-only deer season, turkey hunting and small game opportunities. Visitors can see 50 million-year-old fossilized limestone encrusted with ancient sea shells from the Tallahatta Formation marine ecosystem. Every spring, hikers enjoy a stunning display of one of the state's largest populations of rare trillium, which lie beneath the branches of old-growth beech and magnolia.

Flint River WMA

Flint River Wildlife Management Area is located along the east bank of the Flint River in Dooly County. This 2,300-acre property has opportunities for deer, turkey, small game, dove and feral hog hunting.

Chickasawhatchee WMA

Chickasawhatchee Wildlife Management Area is located 12 miles southwest of Albany. The 19,700-acre WMA includes the Mike Commander Shooting Range, a managed dove field and campsites for tents and RVs. The property is a managed pine savannah that supports varied hunting opportunities, including for deer, turkey, dove, quail, small game, waterfowl and furbearers. Bird watchers will also find a number of different species at Chickasawhatchee.
