Wildlife Management Areas in Georgia

Lola Tract WMA

Lola Tract WMA is a 391 acre property near Stockton. Hunting opportunities include deer, bear, turkey and small game. Hunters utilizing this area for deer or turkey hunting should be sure to check their game using Georgia Game Check and select the Private Land option.

Dupont Tract WMA

The Dupont Tract is a 349 acre property located in Dupont. Hunting opportunities include deer, bear, turkey and small game. Hunters utilizing this area for deer or turkey hunting should be sure to check their game using Georgia Game Check and select the Private Land option.

Standing Boy Creek

The Standing Boy Creek property is located in Muscogee Co. just north of the City of Columbus.  This 1580 acre property lies on the shore of Lake Oliver and offers excellent opportunity for hunting, hiking and wildlife viewing.  The property is mostly wooded and has good populations of white-tailed deer, turkey, waterfowl and other small game along with youth dove hunts.

 

Sandhills WMA: West

Sandhills Wildlife Management Area is located in Taylor County on the north side of GA 96 and about 2.5 miles west of the square in Butler. This 1,576 acre property offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game. No camping is allowed. 

Rum Creek WMA: Berry Creek Area

Rum Creek: Berry Creek Area is in Monroe County adjacent to Rum Creek WMA. Berry Creek Area is a 750 acre archery only tract. This property is owned by GA Power and freely leased to GA DNR. Berry Creek provides hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, and small game. Falconry is permitted during small game season.

This tract predominately consists of an open pine canopy and grassy ground cover that is frequently burned. This creates great habitat for game species such as quail, turkey, deer and fox squirrels as well as many song birds.

Nashville Tract WMA

Nashville Tract WMA is a 101 acre property located in Georgia's coastal plains. Hunting opportunities include deer, turkey and small game. Hunters utilizing this area for deer or turkey hunting should be sure to check their game using Georgia Game Check and select the Private Land option.
