Wildlife Management Areas in Georgia

Yuchi WMA

Yuchi Wildlife Management Area is a 7,800 acre property located in Burke County. This property offers  hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game. Camping is allowed in designated sites only. 

 

West Point WMA

West Point Wildlife Management Area is a 8,952 acre property located in Troup County. This WMA offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game, dove and waterfowl. No gasoline outboards allowed on waterfowl impoundments and no fishing on managed waterfowl impoundments. 

The Dixie Creek Area is 711 acres with hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game and waterfowl. The Glover's Creek Area is 337 acres open for deer and waterfowl hunting. 

 

Walton WMA

Walton Wildlife Management Area is a 200-acre, state-owned complex of scattered crop fields, fallow fields, and wooded areas. The primary focus is dove field management and a variety of crops such as wheat, millet, sunflowers, and grain sorghum, which are annually planted to attract doves and other wildlife. The area also offers archery deer hunting and other small game hunting. Only shotguns may be used for small game hunting.

Tuckahoe WMA

Tuckahoe Wildlife Management Area is a 15,100 acre property located in Screven County.  Bordering the Savannah River, this WMA offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game. Camping is allowed only in designated sites. 

 

Sprewell Bluff WMA: East

Sprewell Bluff Wildlife Management Area: East is located in Thomaston. Located east of the Flint River, this WMA offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game. No hunting in the day-use park area and no camping allowed on the property.

Silver Lake WMA

Silver Lake Wildlife Management Area is a 9,200 acre property located in southern Decatur County. This WMA offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game, quail and waterfowl. The property supports 30 groups of red-cockaded woodpeckers, a significant population of Bachman's sparrows, gopher tortoises, nesting bald eagles and many other high priority species  The property has a 350 acre lake and four smaller ponds with boat ramps and docks.

 

River Bend WMA

River Bend Wildlife Management Area is a 3,500 acre property located in Laurens County approximately 8 miles south of East Dublin.  River Bend consists of two tracts.  The North tract is located on GA Hwy 199 at the intersection with Interstate 16 and the South tract is located 5 miles further south down GA Hwy 199.  This WMA offers excellent hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game, dove, and waterfowl.
