JHF has two lakes, the Upper Lake and Lower Lake. Guests 16 and older must possess a Georgia fishing license and abide by all fishing laws regarding size and quantity of fish kept.

Boaters must follow Georgia Boating Regulations regarding lifejackets/PFDs. Each lake has one boat ramp for access. Personal vessels are allowed however only allow battery operated trolling motors of 10hp. No gas powered allowed. Kayaks/ Canoes are rentable at the park office. Both lakes have Large-mouth bass, Sunfish, Crappie, Blue Gill, Channel Catfish, Grass Carp, and Shad. Fishing restrictions are listed on the front of the park office which includes the following. Largemouth bass must be released between the sizes of 12”-15” with a daily limit of 10 and only 2 of which can be greater than 15”. Bream/ Sunfish have a daily limit of 25. Crappie have a daily limit of 30. Channel Catfish have a daily limit of 5. Grass Carp must be released immediately.
