The State of Georgia is experiencing sub-freezing temperatures. If required, to assist homeowners who may lose power and stranded motorists, Georgia State Parks will open warming stations for public use on Friday at 8a.m. ParkPass fees will be waived for those using these warming stations.


Closures

State Parks and Historic Sites Properties:

  • General Coffee - planned reopening on March 1, 2025
  • George L. Smith - planned reopening on March 1, 2025
  • Black Rock Mountain
  • Park Offices, Visitor Centers, Museums, and Region Offices north of Macon will be closed on Friday, January 10, 2025.
  • The grounds of the following historic sites will remain open: Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site, Pickett’s Mill Battlefield State Historic Site, Chief Vann House State Historic Site, and New Echota State Historic Site. However, the museums and visitor centers at these locations will be closed.
  • Highland Walk Golf Course at Victoria Bryant State Park, Arrowhead Pointe Golf Course at Richard B. Russell State Park, and The Creek Golf Course at Hard Labor Creek will be closed Friday, January 10, 2025.
