Centered around 412-acre Parrish Mill Pond, anglers can catch largemouth bass, bluegill, redbreast sunfish, channel catfish, crappie, bowfins and chain pickerel. Featuring thick stands of cypress and tupelo trees, the pond has a strong population of largemouth and has given up some large ones. The floating fish dock in front of the park office, the dam, a fishing pier located in the picnic area, and the boat ramp near the upper end of the lake are just a sampling of access for fishing. Below the dam, the outflow of water on 15-Mile Creek provides additional opportunities for fishing. On rare occasions, anglers may see alligators. Canoes, kayaks and jon boats may be rented for the day. (Information provided by OnTheFlySouth.com.)
